Women’s involvement in the labor market is limited and this is especially true in green or low carbon footprint businesses. According to the latest INSTAT report “Men and Women in Albania 2019”, women are less likely to participate in the labor market. Regarding the age group of 15-64 years old, the difference between the participation of men and women in the labor force in the last 5 years has remained almost unchanged. The number of start-up businesses focusing on green products remains limited. One of the reasons is financial incapacity and low levels of opportunities to bank loans. From the registry data of the Bank of Albania on the number of loans received and their total value, significant differences are reflected between men and women.

The Resource Environmental Center in Albania (REC), supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program (SGP) is identifying businesses and civil society organizations which hold the following characteristics:

• are women-led businesses / organizations.

• are green businesses (i.e. with a small carbon footprint), or organizations that have sustainable development in their mission ;

• employ women and girls, more than 50% of their staff.

REC Albania is aware that this focus group is too small in number and too fragile for the business environment in Albania, which confirms the need for a grant support or business advice.

To better identify businesses or organizations that can benefit from this support, REC Albania has prepared a short questionnaire. If you think and believe that you are a business or organization that meets the above characteristics, then we invite you to fill your answers below. Completing this questionnaire only takes 10 minutes.

The information in this questionnaire will be used by REC Albania very responsibly only to analyze the results and prepare a representative list of these businesses.

Thank you for your cooperation!
