The Resource Environmental Center Albania (REC Albania) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to inspiring and catalyzing action for the sustainable development of Albanian society. The Regional Environmental Center
Our Legacy
REC Albania stands as the successor of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) presence in Albania. Established in 1993, the Albanian office has been an integral part of REC's network in Southeast Europe for nearly three decades. Throughout this time, REC Albania has worked diligently to fulfill REC's mission of addressing environmental issues by promoting cooperation among governments, NGOs, businesses, and other stakeholders.
Following the dissolution of the Regional Environmental Center, REC Albania has continued its important work as an independent local environmental NGO. This transition has allowed the organization to preserve and build upon REC's valuable heritage in Albania, ensuring that its expertise in environmental protection, public participation, and sustainable development continues to benefit the country and region.
The legacy of REC Albania is rooted in years of experience in providing technical support, capacity building, and fostering dialogue on crucial environmental matters.
