Like any other year, the worldwide event hosted by former Vice President Al Gore, “24 Hours of Reality”, was broadcasted worldwide on November 21, 2019. Welcomed by Al Gore, the event presents a comprehensive line of political icons, artists, scientists and much more. Al Gore’s presentation travels around the globe for 24 hours with ideas provoking inspiring thoughts and stories from climate activists who are creating viable solutions to the climate crisis.

The purpose of the 24 Hours of Reality activity is to strengthen the understanding power of the youth and new members of NGOs on climate change and encourage them to take concrete steps for effective actions.

Activities within the 24 Hours of Reality are now a tradition of REC Albania as a partner in this global campaign, and just like any other year, Tirana joined the campaign on climate change this year as well. Within this movement, two activities were organized with the students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences as well as with the pupils and teachers of the vocational high school “Mihal Shahini” in Cërrik. In both cases we had the opportunity to discuss the truth of the climate crisis and try to find workable solutions for each of us. As the slogan for this year is “Truth in Action”, the focus of the discussion was on how to turn these current truths into bold and sustainable actions and solutions.
